This solo music project, driven by vocalist Nether (formerly of babysitter, tosinn, and cocklobin), began in 2016.Initially centered around collaborations with other artists, HEROINE released its first EP, Kasyu (“Summer/Fall”), in September of the same year. Nether contributed the track “resume” to Kazutoshi Yokoyama’s album YARN, and Iori Minamoto-produced “LASTWILL” and “Voice on Autumn” with ryo and Minamoto Iori. However, due to changing times and the global pandemic, the project went dormant. After a long silence, HEROINE reawakened in July 2024 through a crowdfunding campaign. In October, the project re-emerged at a themed live event titled Yoru (Night), joined by support musicians izumi and Yuu.Their second single, ANATHEMA, was released featuring artists Watashi wa Ukabinagara Shizumu, izumi, and Tokusen OhasHi. In November, the campaign reached its goal of 3.5 million yen, marking a full-scale return. On March 30, 2025, HEROINE held its first one-man show HUMMING, with support members:Gt: Hakuta Yuto / Gt & Manipulator: izumi / Ba: Shindo Wataru / Dr: Mizuno Takuya. At the same time, the first full album MIDNIGHT was released, available on all major streaming platforms as of April 23. The artist name was officially updated to HEROINE FROM the Nether. In May, a Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka tour titled“The sensation that still pulses at the end of an outstretched hand”was launched alongside Umiyuri and Watashi wa Ukabinagara Shizumu. The tour-exclusive spiritual CD introduced the new song “FALL IN DEATH.” HEROINE gives new sound and light to voices almost forgotten, emotions long buried. It is a subtle but certain heartbeat—one that resonates in the silence, reaching deep into unseen places. The beauty that can only be seen in darkness—HEROINE continues to seek it still.
About Nether

Vocalist / Songwriter

Born in Niigata, Japan

Birthday: September 2

Blood type: B

Draped in darkness, Nether’s voice resonates with silent intensity—expressing the delicate violence of the human soul through ambient textures, fractured beauty, and distorted soundscapes.

[現在はSOLD OUT] HEROINE参加 "FALL IN DEATH"作詞nigu 作曲nigu 編曲izumi ──その影は、まだ“そこ”にいる気がした。 “Lost inside you.”“SCREAM WHERE LIGHT IS GONE.”沈黙の中で繰り返されるこの声が、あなたに届いたなら。 HEROINE presents “FALL IN DEATH”Lyrics: nigu / Music: nigu / Arrangement: izumi —It felt like that shadow was still there. Even if you strain your ears, nothing can be heard.Yet deep within, a scream unmistakably echoes. HEROINE’s latest song, “FALL IN DEATH,” is a fragmented “record” drifting through a collapsing mental world.Loss, madness, disconnection—and love.Fragments of meaning ride the waves of sound, slipping into your subconscious, blurring the line between Japanese and English. “Your left eye was missing.”“It was a structure that should have existed.” A torn backpack. Frayed shoelaces. The scent of scorched breath and dried blood. The incident is over, and yet… something hasn’t ended. In the corner of a silent report, it feels as though “someone” is watching. “Lost inside you.”“SCREAM WHERE LIGHT IS GONE.”If these voices repeating in the silence reach you, perhaps it’s proof that something within you, too, has been lost. A phantom walking down a white corridor.A trembling left hand dragging a shattered shadow. An invisible absence that was undeniably there. “FALL IN DEATH” is a song that presses its ear against the tear in one’s mind—a sound that gropes for traces of light in a crumbling world. It may be someone’s scream. It may be someone’s prayer.Or it may be the “voice” long sunken within you. Please—don’t cover your ears. There is meaning in that silence. https://youtu.be/FHTtJgMpDF4

When darkness blankets the city, HEROINE breaks the silence.Their first album since restarting, “MIDNIGHT”, is a sonic record carved straight from the depths of night.Emotions writhing beneath stillness, immoral beauty, the solitude lurking in urban shadows—each note cold, uncanny, and utterly beautiful. The keyword of this work is “dark night”—but it’s not mere darkness. It’s despair, finely tuned. Madness, meticulously composed. A chilling tenderness.Every sound is intricately constructed:frostbitten synths and heavy, undulating guitars resonate as if the night itself were rendered into sound. The melodies seem suspended from reality—yet they pierce deeply into the listener’s core, enforcing a sleepless night upon the soul. In the lead track, fragmented perspectives of those who live in the city at night interweave.Everyone plays a “main character” somewhere, while fading as someone else’s “stranger.”Hidden fragility behind hardened façades. A flicker of warmth between inorganic words. That is the essence of HEROINE. “MIDNIGHT” is not just sound—it’s a device that awakens the night hidden within you.Cool. Cold. And painfully precise. To all who crave the strange and the beautiful in darkness:this album will make midnight eternal inside you.

This debut EP, “Kasyu”, takes nigu himself as its core concept—a deeply personal and evocative work brought to life through dreamlike collaborations with artists known for their own immersive worlds. Featuring guest musicians:Shin Sakuramura (m:a.ture),ryo (HOLLOWGRAM / KEEL / TAG / DALLE),yuya (Develop One’s Faculties),wayne (ex-ambergris),and HISAKI (ex-cocklobin). These artists, transcending genres and generations, fuse their distinct sounds into nigu’s poetic universe, giving birth to a rare and resonant soundscape. The EP includes five tracks:“Kasyu”, “Shinshin no Shitsudo”, “Shinshoku”, “Michikake”, and “Homura”.Each song captures fleeting moments—emotional shadows and memories suspended between seasons. Blending acoustic and electronic textures, serenity and chaos, healing and madness—this work embraces contradictions to deliver a sonic experience that is both delicate and devastating. Originally released on October 4, 2016,“Kasyu” is now available exclusively at live venues and through the official online store.Due to overwhelming support, the EP has entered its 3rd press. A testament to the connections formed in darkness under the name HEROINE—this is not just an ending, but a fragile and beautiful beginning.
